Creating a Smart Capture Form in SFMC

                  Smart Capture Forms in SFMC allow you to collect customer data and store it in a Data Extension (DE) for further segmentation, automation, and personalization.

Steps to Create a Smart Capture Form in SFMC Cloud Pages:

Step 1: Navigate to Cloud Pages

  1. Log in to Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  2. Click on Content Builder.
  3. Select Cloud Pages from the left navigation.
  4. Click on Create Collection (or select an existing collection).
  5. Click Create a New Page and select Smart Capture.

Step 2: Choose a Template

  1. Select a Smart Capture template.
  2. Click Next.

Step 3: Design the Form

  1. Drag and Drop Fields
    • The editor provides form fields like First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, etc.
    • You can also add custom fields.
  2. Configure Field Properties
    • Click on a field to edit properties like required fields, default values, or validation.
  3. Add Additional Elements
    • You can include text, images, and buttons.

Step 4: Configure Form Submission

Select Data Extension

    • Choose the Data Extension where you want to store the form data.
    • If you don’t have a DE, create one in Email Studio → Subscribers → Data Extensions.

Set Form Actions

Choose whether to:

      • Show a confirmation message (e.g., “Thank you for submitting!”).
      • Redirect to another page after submission.
      • Send an email confirmation via Journey Builder or Automation Studio.

Step 5: Publish the Form

  1. Click Save & Publish.
  2. SFMC generates a Cloud Page URL.
  3. Share the link or embed the form in an email or landing page.

  • Dynamic Content – Use dynamic content blocks for personalized messaging.
  • Automation – Trigger journeys based on form submissions.
